ANR Collabora – Contributory Cultural Platforms

One of the objectives of the ANR COLLABORA project is to design, build and disseminate an Observatory of cultural contributive devices.

The objective of this Observatory is twofold:

• Scientific objective: To build a database that can produce an operational definition of cultural contributive device through the quantitative and qualitative analysis of a corpus of devices in relation to a series of predefined parameters.
• General public objective: To give visibility to the phenomenon of cultural contributory devices through the creation of a website where all the files are freely accessible.

Methodology

The list of devices was built through a first phase of web and literature monitoring carried out by the project members and a second participatory phase, through the provision of a form on the project website that allowed anyone to suggest a device (https://anr-collabora.parisnanterre.fr/index.php/suggereune-plateforme/). The analysis also took into account devices that are no longer active. The analysis grid was constructed through a focus group in which all the project members participated (April 2019).

Expected results

The objective is to have a census according to three aspects :

• institutional: objectives, sponsors, partners, financiers, institutions involved ;
• related to the contributors: issues, target contributor, conditions of contributions, level of participation, character of the contributors’ profiles, number of contributors, task of the contribution;
• linked to the technical device and the data: type and status of the data produced, geographical and chronological coverage of the data, consultation and downloading of the data, access modality, presence on social networks, type of interface.
